Welcome To Lake Allatoona Association

Lake Allatoona is located 30 miles north of Atlanta, covers 12,000 acres, and has 270 miles of shoreline. The Lake is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and meanders through three Georgia counties. It draws nearly 9 million visitors a year and provides in excess of $250 million dollars to the local economy. It also offers 688 campsites and 453 picnic sites. It is home to nine city and county parks and one state park. There are eight commercial marinas and also three boat accessible restaurants.

With all that Lake Allatoona offers, and what it provides for the people around it, it needed to have a voice to speak on its behalf. Therefore, the Lake Allatoona Association was formed. The LAA is a Georgia non-profit group that helps to provide both educational and conservation information to all users to continually preserve Lake Allatoona and aide in decreasing shoreline erosion.

The LAA provides its membership the voice needed to bring awareness to both state and federal agencies in meeting the many needs of this Lake and preserving its' water and recreational health. Over the years federal budget cuts, and in some cases the lack of government support, has put many projects around Lake Allatoona on hold.

With your membership in the LAA, you will be able to take ownership of this beautiful lake we have and help fund some of the many undone projects that will allow us to leave an environmental legacy for future generations.
